As a Consultant
Matthew Lundy is a data scientist in the Performance Improvement department at Mission Health System located in Asheville, North Carolina. As an advisor, he serves as an analytical consultant for senior leadership (C-Suite and above) on high priority requests. His projects range from developing predictive algorithms that revolutionize how healthcare is delivered to solving complex optimization questions that result in multi-million dollar investment decisions.
As a Professional
Matthew earned both his Masters in Business Administration and his Masters in Health Administration from the University of North Florida. He then went on to complete an administrative residency with Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. Early in his career, Matthew started to understand the potential of having both a charismatic leadership style and a perceptive analytical mind.
To Matthew, leadership and analytical skills are analogous to sports. Leadership skills are comparable to speed and agility whereas analytical skills are comparable to strength and conditioning. A leader needs to the ability to read the opponent and navigate his team to victory. Success is where opportunity meets preparation.
As a Person
When Matthew is not behind his computer monitors or working with clients in the field, he enjoys many outdoor-based activities such as running trails and swimming with his black lab, Duke. He is a sports enthusiast and a talented woodworking craftsman. He loves grilling, art and is a huge movie/tv show aficionado.
Matthew is very family oriented. His father is an otorhinolaryngologist (ear nose and throat surgeon) at Mayo Clinic. His mother is doctor of physical therapy, on faculty at University of North Florida. His sister recently completed her masters and is now earning her PhD in pharmaceutical sciences.
